The First Epoch of the War of Continents

The First Epoch marks the dawn of the game; it introduces the basic features and principles that lay the foundation for the universe of the War of Continents.

Within the First Epoch, you can acquire lands and heroes. You may mint them by paying the process with platinum coins.

Lands

The lands you mint can vary in rarity, ranging from valleys to the Arctic. In the First Epoch, rare lands might not hold much significance; it doesn’t distinguish between land rarities and suggests using land as a storage of resources — a place where you can obtain gold and find elementals—but more on that later.

Moreover, when minting lands, attributes like elemental dedication and the number of slots for resource buildings and regular buildings are determined. These additional parameters will become valuable later, in the subsequent epochs of the game.

Heroes

Minting heroes also creates characters through whom you will influence the game world. Heroes also have rarity parameters, elemental dedication, and other attributes that will only matter in future epochs.

To become acquainted with the world of the War of Continents, it suffices to own at least one land and one hero. But we recommend to have at leas one land and four heroes.

It is important to note that during the First Epoch, you can mint heroes of the so-called zero generation. In the following epochs, when the hero legacy function appears, the ability to freely mint zero-generation heroes will disappear. Therefore, those who in the First Epoch acquire a reserve of zero-generation heroes will have clear advantages in the future.

Missions

Crucially, the game is designed to allow you to influence the universe through heroes, specifically by sending them on missions. In other words, the primary and diverse way to actively interact with the game world is by using heroes to embark on missions.

After minting, and later when appearing from hero legacy, a hero is not tied to any land but can perform missions only from his base location.

Transfer Hero

Therefore, the first important mission is the transfer of hero. You can invite your hero to any of your lands in the corresponding tab of your chosen land’s interface. If the hero is not yet assigned to any land because he has just appeared—then completing this mission will not take much time; it’s a relatively quick, short journey. However, if you are transferring a hero from one land to another, be prepared to wait, because marching between lands takes time.

Claim Gold

The developers see the main goal of the First Epoch as introducing you to the interface and capabilities, as well as giving you a chance to accumulate resources necessary in the future — namely, gold. Therefore, the second most important mission to which you can send a hero from the current land is gold collection.

Gold appears on its own, accumulating in the element towers, and the hero needs to periodically go and collect the accumulated treasure. Completing this mission takes time, but in the early stages of the game, the generation speed is relatively low, and by sending a hero once every few days, you will be quite satisfied with the result.

It is important to understand that the speed of generating new gold ready for collection depends on the level of the elements, and initially, your lands have elements at zero level. To increase this speed, it is necessary to improve the elements.

Upgrade Elements

Each land possesses four elements - Air, Fire, Water and Earth. Each element generates gold, and the total gold generation on the land is the sum of each of the four elements. At the first stage, when the elements are at zero level, the yield is 10 gold per day from each element, totaling 40. With each new level of an element, the gold production speed increases.

Once again, it should be emphasized that each element individually, depending on its level of development, generates its share in gold production. You can develop your elements evenly or focus on one of them—the gold production will grow.

To improve the elements, you need to have the appropriate ingredients: elementals and gold. Moreover, you need a free hero whom you will send on a mission to upgrade the element. As a result of completing this mission, the ingredients will be consumed, and the level of the corresponding element will be increased by one, which will automatically lead to an increase in gold production efficiency. A pleasant side effect is that you will immediately have a gold collection mission completed, saving you time on performing the gold collection mission.

Search Elementals

You can accumulate the gold necessary for improving the elements right at the start of the game, because lands with unupgraded elements allow you to collect a small amount of gold. However, elementals will have to be sought. For this, you need to send your heroes on a search elementals mission.

This mission requires no ingredients—only the hero’s time. In the corresponding form, you can see the number of elementals you have and send a hero on the search. You cannot be certain which elemental and in what quantity the hero will find. The quantity will vary from zero to 100 units per search; the element of the elemental is chosen randomly, and this choice is determined by the Djinn Misaar.

Upgrade Seals of Elements

Upon returning from the mission, the hero places the found elementals in a vessel where they are stored until you use them. The only problem is that the elementals leak away. They dissipate quite quickly until you finish an upgrade element seals mission, and not so rapidly once you have installed the seals.

The rate at which elementals dissipate is a separate issue that has been discussed several times in the documentation, but it should be noted that in the early stages of the game, it is quite high—in fact, within a day, you lose almost everything you have found. Therefore, obtaining and installing elemental seals is of utmost importance.

If you already have an elemental seal in your inventory, the installation is a simple process. Seals can only be applied to the corresponding element and in the correct sequence. This means that if, for example, your vessel has a zero-level Fire Element Seal, you can improve it to the first level by applying a common Fire Element Seal. Next time, you can upgrade the first-level Fire Element Seal to the second level by applying an uncommon Fire Element Seal, and so on.

Quests

While applying element seals and improving vessels is straightforward, obtaining element seals in your inventory is a challenge. Element seals can be earned by participating in various contests held in the game world.

It should be mentioned that for each completed mission, you receive medals. You can see these medals in your dashboard, and we carefully count the number of medals you have earned each week.

The leaders in the number of elemental search missions for the week, at the very beginning of the new week, will have the right to claim the reward, which will be a common elemental seal.

By the way, besides the main reward, everyone who completes a quest will receive one lottery ticket, which in turn gives the opportunity to win wonderful prizes in the lottery.

Summary

Summary: The main goal of the epoch is to improve the elements of your land and accumulate as much gold as possible. Gold is earned in gold collection missions, and the amount depends on the level of the elements. The level of the elements increases in the element level-up mission and requires gold and elementals as ingredients. Elementals can be obtained in the elemental search mission, but they dissipate within a day. To reduce the dissipation rate, it is necessary to perform the elemental seal improvement mission, for which you need to first earn them by completing missions during the week and receiving a prize.
