✨ Hero Skills

Hero skills define what each Hero is naturally good at and how efficiently they can perform missions, progress, and interact with the world of War of Continents.

In the game systems, these skill channels are also known as MIRACLES: innate heroic talents that shape a Hero’s role in the world.

🌟 MIRACLES System

Every Hero has eight MIRACLES:

  • Mastery — precision, craft, and control over complex upgrades.
  • Intelligence — learning, planning, and structured progression.
  • Resilience — endurance, stability, and resistance during demanding tasks.
  • Agility — movement, speed, and fast execution.
  • Charisma — influence, presence, and social force.
  • Luck — fortune, discovery, and unexpected outcomes.
  • Efficiency — resource discipline and practical optimization.
  • Strength — raw power, carrying ability, and physical force.

These MIRACLES are the foundation of Hero performance. Different missions rely on different skills, so a Hero’s MIRACLE profile can make them better suited for some tasks than others.

MIRACLES

🧬 Base Skills

Each Hero is born with base skills.

Base skills are the Hero’s natural values at creation. They are part of the Hero’s identity and represent their starting potential before later progression systems are applied.

Base skills are fixed at birth. A Hero may become stronger over time, but their base values remain the foundation of all later calculations.

📈 Upskills

As Heroes gain levels, they receive skill points that can be distributed into their MIRACLES.

These allocated points are called upskills.

Upskills allow players to specialize a Hero:

  • improve mission speed for specific mission types;
  • strengthen a Hero’s preferred role;
  • adapt a Hero to the player’s current strategy;
  • invest in long-term progression.

In the current progression model, a Hero earns 8 upskill points per Hero level. Distributed upskill points can also be reset through the Hero Skill Reset mission.

💎 Rarity Bonus

Hero rarity multiplies the Hero’s core skill value.

The core skill is built from:

base skill + upskills

After that, the rarity multiplier is applied.

RarityMultiplier
Common1.00x
Uncommon1.25x
Rare1.60x
Epic2.05x
Legendary2.60x

This means that rare Heroes do not only look more distinctive. Their development potential is also stronger because every invested upskill point benefits from the rarity multiplier.

⚔️ Epoch I Skill Bonus

During Epoch I, every Hero skill receives an additional +10 points bonus.

This Epoch bonus applies to each MIRACLE:

  • +10 Mastery
  • +10 Intelligence
  • +10 Resilience
  • +10 Agility
  • +10 Charisma
  • +10 Luck
  • +10 Efficiency
  • +10 Strength

This bonus helps Heroes participate in early gameplay loops while the world is still in its first stage of development.

🕰️ Epoch Bonus Timeline

The global skill bonus changes as Hero progression systems become more mature:

StageSkill bonus
Before skill improvement mechanics+20
Epoch I, after skill improvement mechanics+10
Epoch II+0

🔮 Shards

Shards are planned as a deeper Hero-growth layer.

They represent concentrated fragments of potential that may later enhance specific skills or unlock deeper connections to the MIRACLES system.

Shard upgrades are not available yet. This feature is planned for a later stage of the game.

🧮 Skill Layers

A Hero’s final displayed skill is built from several layers:

  1. Base skill — the value received at birth.
  2. Upskills — player-distributed progression points.
  3. Rarity bonus — multiplier based on Hero rarity.
  4. Epoch and modifier bonuses — temporary or systemic bonuses, including the Epoch I bonus.
  5. Equipment bonuses — bonuses from future gear and equipment systems.
  6. Shard bonuses — planned future bonuses from shards.

Together, these layers turn each Hero into a long-term strategic asset rather than a static character.

🧭 Design Philosophy

Hero skills are designed to make every Hero feel different.

Two Heroes may share the same element or rarity, but their MIRACLES, upskills, and future shard paths can lead them toward very different roles.

A well-developed Hero is not simply “stronger”. They become better suited to a specific place in the player’s strategy.
